Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.

A welcome and an answer: Why start a food blog?
As you read this first post of mine, you might be thinking, "Another food blog? Shocking. I've seen everything there is to see already!" Perhaps you are entirely right. With so many incredibly great and inspiring food blogs out there, you may be wondering why I'm starting my own.
For me food is a passion, in an entirely different way than other interests of mine - of which there are many, from art to literature and film to languages. Food is a vehicle for experiencing new things you never thought you could or would try, for bringing people together to rejoice, and for learning about everything else around you. Personally, I am completely head-over-heels in love with food. I could probably talk to you about a single pasta shape or sauce for hours on end, not to mention cookware, and cookbooks, and... I digress.
Food is an incredibly vast mystery that I love learning more about, and I can't wait to share everything I know - and that I learn along the way - with you, dear reader!

In some ways this is a way for me to keep track of my own different recipes and the changes I make to those I find along the way, but I also want to share my love of food with anyone who cares to read! However, I feel it would be unfair if I did not warn you, darling reader, ahead of time: if you are looking for a new food blog to try out that will feature new recipes every day, I am so sorry but I would fail you. At least for the time being, my posts will trickle in slowly as I face a few challenges: I am a full-time student, work 20+ hours a week, am quite involved in a student organizations on my university's campus, and most of all: I have no kitchen. But, I can promise you that I'll shoot for one recipe or review each week (and definitely one every two weeks)!
And finally, I want to thank my parents for letting me liberally use their kitchen and for encouraging me to cook and bake since I was only a toddler; words cannot express my gratitude for everything that you both have done for me. Thank you to my sister for always volunteering to try my food - whether or not it was your favorite dish or not and even if you didn't like one of the ingredients! Thank you to all my friends for letting me cook for you and trying everything I make! You are the reason I am who that I am and that I'm here today, writing this post. I love you all of you incredibly.
I am beyond ecstatic to have finally written this first post; it'll been a long time coming for me. And even more so, I'm thrilled that you're here reading it - thank you from the bottom of my heart!
